Aiden was born Aiden Samuel Grimshaw on the 4th December 1991, in Blackpool, England to Joanna and David Grimshaw.
When Aiden was very young his parents split up and went their separate ways.
Joanna then met Chris Taplin who became Aidens step-dad. Joanna and Chris gave Aiden a beautiful half - sister called Libby-Mae Taplin, born on the 3rd December. Aiden's dad also went on to re-marry. He married Vivian Morris and they have a son called Leo, Aidens Half - Brother.
Aiden studied at The Michael Theatre School in Blackpool, and played Tom Holmes in the CBBC show Half Moon Investigations.
When Aiden was 14 he was in his first band called Disco Nap but this didn't work out for him so he left the band after a few years.
A few years after leaving the band, in Episode 5 on the X-Factor 2010, Britain saw Aiden audition, singing Kayne Wests “Gold Digger”. The judges LOVED him and Simon Cowell said at the end of his audition 'now that's what I call a pop star!'
He then auditioned with David Grays “This Year’s Love” during Boot Camp, helping him get through to the final 32, and making it through to judge houses.
He then performed “Cannonball” by Damien Rice to mentor Dannii Minogue and Natalie Imbruglia making him one of the final three boys in the 2010 edition of The X Factor.
But sadly on week 6 Aiden was eliminated from the show. However, Aiden still gave massive support to Matt Cardle and that is when the friendship of a lifetime was founded. The two boys became so close that there was a joke song written for Matt and Aiden called "The Ballad of Maiden", which Matt sung and this can be heard on here. Later on they brought houses near to each other.
But never fear Grimlings, Aiden still has his moment of glory to come. Never a one to quit, and despite being eliminated from the show.
